Tomasello WineryTo make great wines, a few key ingredients-good soil, healthy vines, sunlight, plentiful grapes and good barrels-are all necessary. Since 1933, three generations of the Tomasello family have dedicated their lives to growing and producing excellent wines that are a true expression of the Outer Coastal Plain, a historically celebrated American wine growing region.

The grapes grown at Tomasello Winery, due to its position along the Atlantic Coast line and the Pinelands, enjoy a longer growing season as a benefit of the warming maritime effects on the climate. The soil is sandy and loamy with a slightly higher pH-most comparable to soil acidity levels found in the famed Loire Valley of France, which is known for bright, beautifully balanced wines.

Tomasello Winery is one of the largest winegrowers in New Jersey, having 70 acres of grapes under cultivation, and producing 65,000 cases of wine per year.

There are several Tomasello Winery Tasting Rooms throughout New Jersey, including The Village Greene in Historic Smithville. Tomasello Winery Tasting Room & Banquet Hall and vineyard-the heart and soul of the winery-are still located in Hammonton, where it all began with Frank Tomasello, who understood the climate, soil and location in Hammonton were the perfect combination for success. Generations of the Tomasello family continue Frank’s vision of producing award-winning wines in Hammonton, New Jersey to this day.
